Ember has been acquired by Starling Bank, marking a new chapter for our team.
While our focus is evolving, we remain committed to supporting small businesses like yours.

As part of this transition, Ember will become a software-only solution and will no longer provide accounting services or advice.

We’re putting tools in place so you can invite an accountant to continue supporting you - including the option to work with Anderson Woolven Ltd, led by the same team who have provided Ember’s accounting support for the past four years.

What’s changing

  • Ongoing accounting services from Ember will end on 19th September 2025.

  • Advisory and compliance work will stop after that date.

  • The registered office service will end at the conclusion of your current term (Hoxton Mix will contact you directly). If you join Anderson Woolven LTD (see below) you can switch the service over without disruption.

  • Refunds will be provided for any unused time after 19th September 2025, and your plan will transition to the free tier if you continue using Ember software.

We’ll complete any work already paid for by 19th September 2025 and make sure you’re supported with any time-sensitive filings or requests during this period.

What’s staying the same

  • Access to Ember’s software

  • In-app support for software questions

  • Filing services for payroll and VAT (filing only)

  • Helpful guides and regular feature improvements

Working with Anderson Woolven Ltd

We recommend Anderson Woolven Ltd, founded by Steven Anderson FCCA and Sarah Woolven ACCA.
They know your setup, understand how you work, and can continue supporting you with minimal disruption at similar pricing to what you’re used to.

If you prefer to work with a different accountant or software, we’ll help you transition smoothly.

What this means for you

Please check your email from Ember for the details that apply to you, including:

  • Whether you’ll need to open a Starling business account to continue using Ember beyond certain dates

  • How long you’ll retain access to Ember if you don’t open a Starling account

  • What actions you should take now to ensure a smooth transition

About the transition to Starling

This change allows us to focus fully on building financial tools for small businesses.
If you become a Starling customer, you’ll get access to Ember’s software for free.

We’re also making it possible for your accountant — including Anderson Woolven Ltd if you choose them — to securely access your Ember account and continue supporting you through the software.
