A company authentication code, or Companies House Auth Code as you will see in your Company Settings tab, is a code you'll need to file company information online.

The authentication code is a 6 digit alphanumeric code issued by Companies House to each company. It is unique to your company and the usual time to receive it is with your documents of incorporation. The code is used to authorise information filed online and is the equivalent of a company officer’s signature.

You’ll need a code to file your information on Companies House WebFiling or when using software such as Ember to file information.

Lost your code?

You can request to have your code sent to your home address or your registered office address.

If you are unable to access your company’s registered office address, you can request to have your authentication code sent to your home address instead.

This is a temporary service in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and normally reminders would be sent to the registered office address.
