You can quickly create and send an invoice in a few simple steps. First, navigate to Invoices page and click on New Invoice.
Adding Invoice details
First you’ll need to select a client you want to invoice. You can either select from a list of existing clients, or if this is a new client you can add their details by selecting Add new client.
You can easily search for clients by typing their name.

The default currency is GBP, but you can invoice in foreign currency with an Ember paid plan.
💡 You can only add line items in the same currency on a single invoice.
You can either proceed with creating the invoice or if you wish to come back later make sure you select Save and exit.
Adding line items
To add line items to your invoice you can either select from the list of your saved products/services or add a custom line item.
Selecting a product/service will populate the saved details.
To add a custom line item, type in the product/service name and click Add new item. You can then input details such as description (optional), price per unit, VAT rate (if applicable), quantity, and unit type.
Then click Save line item and that’s it.
You can add multiple line items by selecting Add another line item and repeating the above process.
Adding payment details
In this section you can update details, such as invoice date, payment terms and payment details.
Invoice date: this defaults to today's date, but can be changed by picking a different date.
Invoice due date: this defaults to 14 days from the invoice date. You can choose from the preset options of today’s date, 7 days, 30 days, or a custom date.
All your connected bank accounts will show in the Payment account drop down. The selected account details will appear on the invoice.
Sending the invoice
Your client's email address will be automatically filled as the recipient for the invoice, but it can be changed if needed.
💡 Note that changing the email address in this instance will not update the client’s default email.
You can send the invoice to multiple recipients and you can do this by simply adding a comma after each recipient email address:
You can also add notes before sending the invoice, e.g. any custom message or additional details related to the invoice such PO number
To send the invoice you can either:
Preview email and send to first see the email that will be sent with your invoice and then selecting Send invoice.
Select Download and mark as sent from the context menu. This will download a PDF of the invoice which you can then send to the client yourself.
