When running a business big or small, you must keep and record your receipts either in paper form or digital.

If the original form is paper, such as a receipt for a coffee, HMRC accept scanned copies.

Some minor exceptions

When you receive some documents that include a tax, that isn't VAT, for example bank interest certificates and dividend vouchers, these documents must be kept in their original form.

How to manage your scanned receipts and documents through Ember

On Ember, you can take a picture or scan your documents then upload as an attachment to a specific transaction.

Note: Do not forget to scan both sides of the receipt or document such as a bill that has terms and conditions for example.
